Legal Services in El Salvador

Salvadoran lawyer born in San Salvador, El Salvador. She obtainer her Juridical Science Degree from the University “Dr. José Matías Delgado” (El Salvador) (1985); Associate Degree in Hotel Management and Tourism; Post Graduate Degree in Environmental Administration at an alliance between the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and the Universidad Albert Einstein in El Salvador (2002); Post Graduate Degree in National Security and Development Colegio de Altos Estudios Estrategicos (School of High Strategic Studies) (2002), earning the title of Distinguished Graduate.

In addition to exerting her profession privately, she has carried out the following public positions:

a) PERIOD 1988-1991: deputy to the Asamblea Legislativa de El Salvador (Legislative Assembly of El Salvador for the Department of San Salvador.

b) PERIOD 1991-1994: deputy to the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador for the Department of San Salvador, President of the Legislative Commission for Women, Family and Children.

c) 1991-1994: Representative of El Salvador for different international organizations.

d) 1992-1993: Adviser to the Commission of El Salvador-Honduras Borders for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

e) 1994-1995: Legal Adviser to the Minister of the Interior and Public Security.

f) 1994-1995: Legal Adviser (ad honorem) for the Executive Secretary of the Environment (SEMA).

g) 1999-present: Legal Adviser for the Minister of Government.

2004-2007: President of the Registro Nacional de Personas Naturales (National Registry of Natural People) She has participated in a great amount of seminars regarding legislation, many of them as an exhibitor. 

She has been invited many times as a lecturer for several universities. She created consulting works in the analysis, the study , and the making of bills, decrees, and regulations in general.

She is a columnist for El Diario de Hoy (A local Newspaper). In 1996 she Premio Nacional de las Artesanías “Orden Cecilia Castro Lara” (National Prize of Handicrafts “Orden Cecilia Casto Lara”), for her contributions to improving the legislation for the protection and promotion of Salvadoran Handicrafts. 

Since 1995 she serves as Honorary President of Gold Service, S.A. de C.V.

Languages: English and Spanish. 

Memberships: Asociación Interamericana de Abogados (Inter-American Association of Lawyers)(Washington), Cámara de Comercio e Industria de El Salvador (Chamber of Commerce and Industry of El Salvador), Asociación Salvadoreña de Industriales (Salvadoran Association of Industrailists), and other juridical studiy centres.

Areas of practice: civil law, commercial law, environment, telecommunications, intellectual property, and international businesses.
